Why Whiteboard Sells

GRABS ATTENTION

Whiteboard videos are a great way to engage your web visitor. Your viewer is instantly put at ease due to the casual and informal feel and they continue watching because they want to see the drawing completed and experience the final product. Drawings are a primary and very basic way of communicating and people are drawn (sorry for the pun!) to them. When your viewer is relaxed and engaged, they will take notice and connect with your message and you'll be more likely to make a sale.

FLEXIBLE BRANDING

Whiteboard animations are completely custom and can be crafted specifically to reflect your branding, but in that folksy, familiar style. Whatever your message or brand, it is reinforced in a positive, fun way. You can’t go wrong.

DON'T WASTE YOUR SPACE

What's the point of putting your message on the web if it's not going to grab people — and let's face it — entertain them? You want to be memorable; you want to sell your product. With whiteboard animation, your message stays with your visitor and they are more likely to remember and choose you over your competitor.

APPEALS TO PEOPLE AND SEARCH ENGINES BOTH

A picture is worth a thousand words, and moving pictures are worth even more! Animations are the exact opposite of text on a page. Viewers connect with the drawings on an immediate and emotional level. Also, search engines take note when people stay on your site to watch your animation, giving your site better rankings.

Information for the city of Las Vegas

Las Vegas is an internationally renowned major resort city known primarily for gambling, shopping, fine dining and nightlife and is the leading financial and cultural center for Southern Nevada. The city bills itself as The Entertainment Capital of the World, and is famous for its mega casino hotels and associated entertainment. A growing retirement and family city, Las Vegas is the 31st most populous city in the United States, with a population at the 2010 census of 583,756. The 2010 population of the Las Vegas metropolitan area was 1,951,269. The city is one of the top three leading destinations in the United States for conventions, business and meetings. Today, Las Vegas is one of the top tourist destinations in the world.Established in 1905, Las Vegas was incorporated as a city in 1911. At the close of the 20th century, Las Vegas was the most populous American city founded in that century (a distinction held by Chicago in the 19th century). The city's tolerance for various forms of adult entertainment earned it the title of Sin City, and has made Las Vegas a popular setting for films and television programs.Las Vegas is commonly used to describe not just the city, but areas beyond the city limits especially the resort areas on and near the Las Vegas Strip and the Las Vegas Valley. The 4.2 mi (6.8 km) stretch of South Las Vegas Boulevard known as the Strip is in the unincorporated communities of Paradise, Winchester, and Enterprise (Clark County).

The primary drivers of the Las Vegas economy are tourism, gaming and conventions, which in turn feed the retail and restaurant industries.TourismThe major attractions in Las Vegas are the casinos and the hotels, although in recent years other new attractions have begun to emerge. A view of the Las Vegas Valley looking south from the Stratosphere Tower at dusk. Most casinos in the downtown area are located on the Fremont Street Experience, The Stratosphere being one of the exceptions. Fremont East, adjacent to the Fremont Street Experience, was granted variances to allow bars to be closer together, similar to the Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego, the goal being to attract a different demographic than the Strip attracts.Downtown casinos Las VegasMain article: Downtown (Nevada gaming area)The Hotel & Casino, located downtown along the Fremont Street Experience, is the oldest continuously operating hotel and casino in Las Vegas; it opened in 1906 as the Hotel Nevada. The year 1931 marked the opening of the Northern Club (now the La Bayou). The most notable of the early casinos may have been while it was run by Benny .Boyd Gaming has a major presence downtown operating the Casino. Other casinos operations include the , which are also located downtown along the Fremont Street Experience.Downtown casinos that have undergone major renovations and revitalization in recent years include the .

The largest and most notable casinos and buildings are located there.Development The Strip in late 2009 Astronaut photograph of Las Vegas at nightSee also: List of tallest buildings in Las VegasWhen The Mirage opened in 1989, it started a trend of major resort development on the Las Vegas Strip outside of the city. This resulted in a drop in tourism in the downtown area, but many recent projects have increased the number of visitors to downtown. An effort has been made by city officials to diversify the economy by attracting health related, high tech and other commercial interests. No state tax for individuals or corporations, as well as a lack of other forms of business related taxes, have aided the success of these efforts. With the Strip expansion in the 1990s, downtown Las Vegas which has maintained an old Las Vegas feel began to suffer.

However, in recent years the city has made strides in turning around the fortunes of this urban area. The Fremont Street Experience was built in an effort to draw tourists back to the area, and has been popular since its startup in 1995.The city purchased 61 acres (25 ha) of property from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1995 with the goal of creating a better draw for more people to the downtown area. In 2004, Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman announced plans for Symphony Park, which will include residential and office highrises.Already operating in Symphony Park is the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health (opened in 2010), The Smith Center for the Performing Arts (opened in 2012) and the DISCOVERY Children's Museum (opened in 2013).On land across from Symphony Park, the World Market Center Las Vegas opened in 2005. It currently encompasses three large buildings with a total of 5.1 million square feet. Trade shows for the furniture and furnishing industries are held there semiannually. Also located nearby is the Las Vegas Premium Outlets North, one of the top performing outlet centers in its company's portfolio.

It is currently undergoing a second expansion.A new Las Vegas City Hall opened in February 2013 on downtown's Main Street, another urban area ripe for development. The former City Hall building is now occupied by the corporate headquarters for the major online retailer, , which opened downtown in 2013.has taken a personal, as well as a professional, interest in the urban area and is contributing $350 million of his personal wealth toward a multifaceted revitalization effort called the Downtown Project. This involves investing $200 million in real estate, $50 million in small businesses, $50 million in education and $50 million in technology start

Information for the state of Nevada

"The Bureau of Economic Analysis estimates that Nevada's total state product in 2010 was $126billion. Resort areas like Las Vegas, Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Laughlin attract visitors from around the nation and world. In FY08 the total of 266 casinos with gaming revenue over $1m for the year, brought in revenue of $12 billion in gaming revenue, and $13 billion in non-gaming revenue. Many of the high plateau areas are excellent for grazing, and cattle and sheep raising are important industries.

Because of the prevailing dryness and the steep slopes, agriculture is not highly developed, but is devoted mainly to growing hay and other feed for cattle; however, potatoes, onions, and some other crops are also cultivated.Nevada's riches do not grow from its land; rather, almost incredible wealth lies below its surface. Although copper mining is now much less dominant than before, Nevada is the nation's leading producer of gold, silver, and mercury. Petroleum, diatomite, and other minerals are also extracted. The state's manufactures include gaming machines and products, aerospace equipment, lawn and garden irrigation devices, and seismic monitoring equipment.

Warehousing and trucking are also significant Nevada industries.Nevada's economy, however, is overwhelmingly based on tourism, especially the gambling (legalized in 1931) and resort industries centered in Las Vegas and, to a lesser extent, Reno and Lake Tahoe. Gambling taxes are a primary source of state revenue. The service sector employs about half of Nevada's workers. Liberal divorce laws made Reno ""the divorce capital of the world"" for many years, but similar laws enacted in other states ended this distinction. Much of Nevada (almost 80% of whose land is federally owned) is given over to military and related use. Nellis Air Force Base and the Nevada Test Site have been the scene of much nuclear and aircraft testing; Yucca Mountain is slated to be the primary depository for U.S. nuclear waste."

e-Learning: Creating Effective Whiteboard Animations

-Great Script

The foundation of all effective whiteboard animations is having a really good script. It's important to remember, though, that the animation should have minimal text, which means that the words you choose to identify the learning you're trying to share must be chosen very carefully. It's the script that will determine how long your video will be, so the script sets the pace for image transitions.-Effective Flow

A good whiteboard animation is very much like a story, in-as-much-as it has a distinct beginning, middle, and end. Having an effective flow helps the viewer understand the concept or issue being taught, and how it will affect their lives. Whiteboard animations are typically quite short - somewhere between 60 seconds and five minutes, with a smooth flow.

-Powerful Images and Illustrations

Powerful imagery is the backbone of a successful whiteboard animation video. Yes, it will take time to create effective illustrations and images, but it will be time well spent. Basically, it's the imagery that makes the connection with your audience, even without words. When developing illustrations, keep in mind the social and cultural predispositions of your audience, and because the illustrations will be either computer-generated or hand drawn, you can always re-work or tweak them as needed.

-Appropriate Audio

It's audio that humanizes e-content, because in the absence of on-screen text, it's the voice-over that details your concept and ideas. The nature of the animation video determines how the voice-over is developed, and your audio will become an important accompaniment to your illustrations.

-Accompanying Music

Sound effects and music are both powerful tools to be used for creating greater impact and jazzing up your video. The scene being presented to the viewer may be an illustration, but it's the sound effects and music that help create a realistic scenario. Let's say your animated illustration includes a door opening: the viewer will perceive this as real when they hear the accompanying ‘creak' of the door.

It's not that long ago that developing a whiteboard animation was a long and tedious process. In fact, this task was usually accomplished by taking a video of a hand drawing on a whiteboard, then fast-pacing it to make it appear animated. Fortunately, the process today is so much easier, and a whole lot more effective!

Using Whiteboard Animations for Corporate Training and Learning

Whiteboard animations are particularly effective for corporate training and learning, and the following are just some of the benefits -

-Effective Marketing Tool

Whiteboard animation can be a very effective marketing tool, particularly if you're introducing a new business process. In fact, animation videos are probably the perfect way of generating interest in a new tool or process within an organization because they're short and to-the-point; plus, they take up very little of the viewer's time and they're informal, which encourages the viewer to ‘try and see'.

-Handy Revision Tool

Whiteboard animations serve as excellent refreshers when accompanying text heavy courses. When they encapsulate the basics of the course, it helps the learner refresh and/or revise, as needed. Animations certainly make learning more palatable and information much easier to both consume and retain.

-Learning Complex Tasks Becomes Easier

Whiteboard animations make complex processes, such as assembling machinery parts, easier for the learner to both see how things work and understand processes much easier. Whiteboard animations are different to static images, and with animation these processes can be broken down and clearly illustrated.

-Perfect for Demonstration Purposes

Whiteboard animations are ideal when you need to create a demonstration for a product that's being built or created. Real pictures or photographs can be difficult to both get and comprehend, whereas drawings or illustrations in animation can easily represent the product to the learner.

-They're Popular!

Whiteboard animations have become very popular, so using this type of video helps distinguish your modern and up-to-date course from others. By presenting a short animation video prior to the start of a course, the learner becomes interested - curious to know more. In fact, placing an effective animation video on your website will probably be a lot more effective than all the impactful content you can create!

-They're Morale Boosting

Because these types of videos are informal, whiteboard animations can boost a team's morale by highlighting organizational goals, beliefs, and achievements. Whiteboard animations reduce the usual seriousness that generally accompanies these types of discussion.

Today, besides being very popular, whiteboard animations have become a very useful learning tool. Because they're so short and to-the-point, they perfectly suit the needs of today's modern corporate learner. There are certain learning needs, however, where whiteboard animation will not be as effective as videos with actual settings and real people; like when you need more depth to your video or when you're showing actual people carrying out a specific task.

How This Plumbing Company Doubled Their Sales Overnight with a Website

Dillan finished twisting the last part into place, settling his tools down before sliding out from beneath the sink. Mr. Wilson, the homeowner, was sitting at the kitchen table. ""What's the prognosis?""

""You didn't do too much damage trying to fix it yourself. It should be just fine now. If there are any problems call me and I'll come out and set it right."" He began to pack up his tools as Mr. Wilson went to grab his credit card. Dillan had been a little suspicious of the card readers that attach to his cell phone, but once he realized how useful it could be he'd embraced it wholeheartedly. It just made his job that much easier.

Mr. Wilson paid him and said, ""I wish I had called you sooner. I was looking for plumbers in town but couldn't find any information about you. My neighbor ended up recommending you.""

""I have an ad in the yellow book, and I think I have a website."" Dillan replied, trying to think about the last time he'd made any updates to his marketing.

""Yeah, I remember seeing a result for you, but when I clicked on it the website wouldn't load."" Mr. Wilson said.

""Oh, I'll check that out."" replied Dillan. Mr. Wilson thanked him again and Dillan headed out to his next job. The rest of his clients were folks he'd worked with since he started his plumbing business ten years ago. However, he had noticed that a lot of people were moving into the community due to new job opportunities in the nearby big city, but very few were calling for his services. He wondered if they were having a problem finding him.

Settling down at the small computer desk in the corner of his living room he tapped the spacebar to wake up the machine. His fingers clicked the keys of his keyboard as he tried to find the website his cousin had made for him years ago. He tried the name of his business, his own name, and searched for plumbing in his area. He could find himself on third party services where people seemed pleased with his service, but they were not pages he could control. Ultimately, he had to dig through several pages of results before he found his own web page.

When he clicked on it, all he found was his web host saying that the page no longer existed. What? he thought. Dillan tried to login and found that his domain name had expired years ago. There was a view of what his website used to look like, but it was filled with flashing graphics and bright colors that even he was annoyed by now. Luckily, no one had bought his domain name, but he was in a lurch. He tried to reach out to his cousin, but he was busy these days and didn't have the time. Dillan realized that not only was the site outdated, the platform he'd used to make it was no longer supported!

His old website was unable to be revived and he didn't know the first thing about building a web page. The newer styles seemed so slick and complex, Dillan wasn't sure where to start. He checked out some free website building options, but he grew overwhelmed. Dillan looked at the clock, it was nearing midnight! Frustrated, he decided that first thing in the morning he would try and find an option for a new online presence. If people were moving into town he wanted to be able to capture their business.

In between plumbing calls Dillan was on a search for a website designer. He had a budget in mind and was hoping to find someone he could work with. He made a list, feeling a little nervous. Some of the web design packages seemed so expensive! Did he even need all of that stuff? Would the cost of the site even help his business?

The first few people he called never seemed to have an answer to his questions. He received disheartening responses about how they would design his site. He didn't want just a template, he decided, there needed to be something unique to help him stand out. If he was going to use a template he would have struggled through one of the free services! Several of the local web designers didn't even answer their phones.

He went back to the web search and found Clayton Commercial Arts. They were local to Seattle and had been in business for several years. He was astounded when he saw their website. It looked modern and clean, simple headers and graphics helping him find the information that he needed. He looked at the qualifications of the team of designers. They had many years experience in graphic design, web design, art, and video making. They seemed capable of doing a lot for a business. Curious about what they could do for him, he decided to contact them. He gave Louisa Clayton, the owner, a call.

""I am looking to create a website for my plumbing business.""

""Our team at Clayton Commercial Arts works with businesses locally in Seattle and across the United States. We can work with all kinds of businesses, what are you hoping your website will do for you and your business?"" she asked.

Dillan began to explain, describing all of his hopes for what he needed. His website needed to look professional in order to capture new business. He wanted to help share information about simple plumbing projects and when to call a plumber. Dillan wanted to reaffirm his current customers and give them a simple place they could direct referrals.

""That really helps me get an idea of what we can do for you. Could you give me a little bit of information about your clients? I want to be able to picture the website from their point of view."" Dillan answered and Louisa asked several more questions. His feelings of frustration with the do-it-yourself sites and the other web developers waned. Louisa was asking a lot of questions that he would have asked himself when deciding where next to go with his business. ""We will create some samples and see what you would be interested in."" she said. He was given a time frame and he agreed.

When they met to look at the samples, Dillan was astounded. They were far more than he would have been able to come up with. Louisa carefully explained the design choices and how certain marketing options could help him with conversion rates. Not only would people be able to find his contact information, they would be assured he was the plumber to hire.

""Will it work on cell phones?"" he asked, observing the different options. He had come across that problem himself many times, he would be out working and unable to view a link he'd been sent.

""Yes, of course. Responsive design is something we stay on top of at our company. We are always looking forward to new technologies that may have different screen resolutions. Your website will be viewable in whatever format your clients choose."" She did a few clicks on the screen and he was able to see all of the sites in a mobile format. ""With our service we also stay on top of browser upgrades and requirements so that if there are changes in any browser codes we can make sure your website still looks well done and professional.""

""What if I want to change it in the future?""

""We stay appraised of current design trends and implement them when necessary to keep your website looking fresh and professional. We have plans in place to keep websites running for years to come.""

""Wow, I didn't even think about most of this stuff when I realized I needed a new website."" Dillan admitted, feeling a little bit behind the times.

""I'm here to help with anything you need. I've been in business for quite some time and I will be working on marketing design well into the future."" Louisa replied. Dillan nodded feeling comradery from one entrepreneur to another. ""It's a passion of mine to make marketing functional, practical, and looking great!"" Dillan smiled and selected one of the samples.

Soon his new site was online, a world of difference from his former online presence. He felt proud of his new website and actually made some changes to his traditional marketing in the newspaper and in flyers. As time went on he was able to help his business to grow, many of the new members of the community trying out his services when they needed help. In fact, his business expanded and he was able to hire on more plumbers to help serve the people in his community.

Looking back a year later after a redesign of his marketing, and the assistance of Clayton Commercial Arts, he felt a sense of pride and accomplishment. He was able to do his work and share his expertise in a way he'd never been able to do before. All it took was a desire to change his marketing plan and finding the right business to partner with. With the help of Louisa Clayton and her team of designers he was able to be more successful than he'd ever considered before.

Whiteboard Animations Convert Viewers into Buyers

Whiteboard animations have become popular, exciting, and innovative marketing and advertising tools for products and services and, and when compared to other forms of advertising, they're extremely economical.

In this post, we'll take a look at the main reasons whiteboard animation videos convert viewers into buyers -

Your Message Is Very Specific

The purpose of whiteboard animations is to create a very specific message without all the fluff and nonsense of other types of videos. A whiteboard video message is a focused message; it's uncluttered, which allows your message to be clearly heard and understood.

Whiteboard Animations Are Fun!

When you have the perfect script and it's done correctly, a whiteboard animation can have an impactful effect on the viewer. Because they're so entertaining, your viewer will look at your company as one they'd like to do business with.

They Provide Flexible Marketing

Whiteboard animation videos can be placed anywhere, like on the homepage of your website, or in fact any page of your website, and they can be created to relate specifically to the page you place them on.

Viewers Remember Animation Videos

If you create a great whiteboard animation, your potential customers will not only remember the video, they'll remember you and your service or product. This means they're more likely to tell other people about you.

Your Videos Can Be Shared

When whiteboard animation videos are used creatively, it makes it much easier for your customers and fans to spread the word about your service or product. Placing animation videos on social marketing sites means that, through sharing and commenting, your viewers are helping spread the word about you and your brand.

Viewers Will Quickly Get Your Message

When you have a great script-writer for your whiteboard video, the viewer will quickly understand how your product or service fits into their life, how to use it, and the benefits they'll receive. It's not only that the viewer receives step-by-step instructions; your video lets viewers know why they can't live without your product. That's why a great script is so important for your animation video.

Your Viewer Is Called to Action

Whiteboard videos are so successful in converting viewers into buyers because they contain a specific call to action. It will be very clear to your viewer what they need to do next - whether it's to call a certain telephone number, visit a specific site, or purchase a product; and they'll know exactly where they need to go to complete that task.

Individually, the above points play an important role in converting viewers to customers; however, whiteboard animation videos are most productive when all the above are used in some form. Besides the fact that animation videos have a specific call to action, they're also very economical to produce - certainly much less expensive than other types of videos.

For your whiteboard animation video to be effective, your first step should be understanding your viewers' call to action. Then, with this information and a strong script, you can go ahead and produce your video. Putting all the above together into an effective whiteboard animation video means you're on the right path to converting your viewers into buyers.

The Crimes We Commit Against Our Whiteboard Animation Video

Some history on the Website Design Services Industry

Website Designer

Web design encompasses many different skills and disciplines in the production and maintenance of websites. The different areas of web design include web graphic design; interface design; authoring, including standardised code and proprietary software; user experience design; and search engine optimization. Often many individuals will work in teams covering different aspects of the design process, although some designers will cover them all. The term web design is normally used to describe the design process relating to the front-end (client side) design of a website including writing mark up. Web design partially overlaps web engineering in the broader scope of web development. Web designers are expected to have an awareness of usability and if their role involves creating mark up then they are also expected to be up to date with web accessibility guidelines.

Web Designer Tools and technologies

Web designers use a variety of different tools depending on what part of the production process they are involved in. These tools are updated over time by newer standards and software but the principles behind them remain the same. Web designers use both vector and raster graphics editors to create web-formatted imagery or design prototypes. Technologies used to create websites include W3C standards like HTML and CSS, which can be hand-coded or generated by WYSIWYG editing software. Other tools web designers might use include mark up validators and other testing tools for usability and accessibility to ensure their web sites meet web accessibility guidelines.

Skills and techniques

Marketing and communication design

Marketing and communication design on a website may identify what works for its target market. This can be an age group or particular strand of culture; thus the designer may understand the trends of its audience. Designers may also understand the type of website they are designing, meaning, for example, that (B2B) business-to-business website design considerations might differ greatly from a consumer targeted website such as a retail or entertainment website. Careful consideration might be made to ensure that the aesthetics or overall design of a site do not clash with the clarity and accuracy of the content or the ease of web navigation, especially on a B2B website. Designers may also consider the reputation of the owner or business the site is representing to make sure they are portrayed favorably

User experience design and interactive design

User understanding of the content of a website often depends on user understanding of how the website works. This is part of the user experience design. User experience is related to layout, clear instructions and labeling on a website. How well a user understands how they can interact on a site may also depend on the interactive design of the site. If a user perceives the usefulness of the website, they are more likely to continue using it. Users who are skilled and well versed with website use may find a more distinctive, yet less intuitive or less user-friendly website interface useful nonetheless. However, users with less experience are less likely to see the advantages or usefulness of a less intuitive website interface. This drives the trend for a more universal user experience and ease of access to accommodate as many users as possible regardless of user skill. Much of the user experience design and interactive design are considered in the user interface design.

Advanced interactive functions may require plug-ins if not advanced coding language skills. Choosing whether or not to use interactivity that requires plug-ins is a critical decision in user experience design. If the plug-in doesn't come pre-installed with most browsers, there's a risk that the user will have neither the know how or the patience to install a plug-in just to access the content. If the function requires advanced coding language skills, it may be too costly in either time or money to code compared to the amount of enhancement the function will add to the user experience. There's also a risk that advanced interactivity may be incompatible with older browsers or hardware configurations. Publishing a function that doesn't work reliably is potentially worse for the user experience than making no attempt. It depends on the target audience if it's likely to be needed or worth any risks.

Page layout

Part of the user interface design is affected by the quality of the page layout. For example, a designer may consider whether the site's page layout should remain consistent on different pages when designing the layout. Page pixel width may also be considered vital for aligning objects in the layout design. The most popular fixed-width websites generally have the same set width to match the current most popular browser window, at the current most popular screen resolution, on the current most popular monitor size. Most pages are also center-aligned for concerns of aesthetics on larger screens.

Fluid layouts increased in popularity around 2000 as an alternative to HTML-table-based layouts and grid-based design in both page layout design principle and in coding technique, but were very slow to be adopted. This was due to considerations of screen reading devices and varying windows sizes which designers have no control over. Accordingly, a design may be broken down into units (sidebars, content blocks, embedded advertising areas, navigation areas) that are sent to the browser and which will be fitted into the display window by the browser, as best it can. As the browser does recognize the details of the reader's screen (window size, font size relative to window etc.) the browser can make user-specific layout adjustments to fluid layouts, but not fixed-width layouts. Although such a display may often change the relative position of major content units, sidebars may be displaced below body text rather than to the side of it. This is a more flexible display than a hard-coded grid-based layout that doesn't fit the device window. In particular, the relative position of content blocks may change while leaving the content within the block unaffected. This also minimizes the user's need to horizontally scroll the page.

Some history on the Graphic Design Services Industry

Graphic Designer

Graphic design is the process of visual communication and problem-solving through the use of typography, photography and illustration. The field is considered a subset of visual communication and communication design, but sometimes the term "graphic design" is used synonymously. Graphic designers create and combine symbols, images and text to form visual representations of ideas and messages. They use typography, visual arts, and page layout techniques to create visual compositions. Common uses of graphic design include corporate design (logos and branding), editorial design (magazines, newspapers and books), advertising, web design, communication design, product packaging and signage.

Applications

From road signs to technical schematics, from interoffice memorandums to reference manuals, graphic design enhances transfer of knowledge and visual messages. Readability and legibility is enhanced by improving the visual presentation and layout of text.

Design can also aid in selling a product or idea through effective visual communication. It is applied to products and elements of company identity like logos, colors, packaging, and text. Together these are defined as branding (see also advertising). Branding has increasingly become important in the range of services offered by many graphic designers, alongside corporate identity. Whilst the terms are often used interchangeably, branding is more strictly related to the identifying mark or trade name for a product or service, whereas corporate identity can have a broader meaning relating to the structure and ethos of a company, as well as to the company's external image. Graphic designers will often form part of a team working on corporate identity and branding projects. Other members of that team can include marketing professionals, communications consultants and commercial writers.

Textbooks are designed to present subjects such as geography, science, and math. These publications have layouts which illustrate theories and diagrams. A common example of graphics in use to educate is diagrams of human anatomy. Graphic design is also applied to layout and formatting of educational material to make the information more accessible and more readily understandable.

Skills

A graphic design project may involve the stylization and presentation of existing text and either preexisting imagery or images developed by the graphic designer. Artistic pieces can be incorporated in both traditional and digital form, which involves the use of visual arts, typography, and page layout techniques for publications and marketing. For example, a newspaper story begins with the journalists and photojournalists and then becomes the graphic designer's job to organize the page into a reasonable layout and determine if any other graphic elements should be required. In a magazine article or advertisement, often the graphic designer or art director will commission photographers or illustrators to create original pieces just to be incorporated into the design layout. Or the designer may utilize stock imagery or photography. Contemporary design practice has been extended to the modern computer, for example in the use of WYSIWYG user interfaces, often referred to as interactive design, or multimedia design. Another aspect of graphic design is to have good research skills, analyzing a work of art and simultaneously seeing it in new ways. Graphic Design need skills such as power to convince the audience and selling the design. Communication is a key part in graphic design. The process of graphic design include the "process school" which is an approach to the subject that is concerned with the actual process of communication; it especially highlights the channels and media through which messages are transmitted and by which senders and receivers encode and decode. Semiotic School on the other hand, is message as a construction of signs which through interaction with receivers, produces meaning; communication as an agent. The process school is like the way in which a message is brought out to society.

Some history on the Whiteboard Animation Video Services Industry

Whiteboard animation

Whiteboard animation is a process where a creative story and storyboard with pictures is drawn on a whiteboard (or something that resembles a whiteboard) by artists who record themselves in the process of their artwork. It is used in TV and internet advertising to communicate messages in a unique way.

Terminology

The term whiteboard animation comes from the process of someone drawing on a whiteboard and recording it. The actual effect is a time-lapse, or sometimes stop-motion. Actual animation is rarely used but has been incorporated. Other terms are video scribing, and animated doodling. These video animation styles are now seen in many variations, and have taken a turn into many other animation styles. With the introduction of software to create the whiteboard animations, the process has many different manifestations of varying quality.

Animation

Animation is the process of making the illusion of motion and the illusion of change[Note 1] by means of the rapid display of a sequence of static images that minimally differ from each other. The illusion—as in motion pictures in general—is thought to rely on the phi phenomenon. Animators are artists who specialize in the creation of animation. Animation can be recorded with either analogue media, a flip book, motion picture film, video tape, digital media, including formats with animated GIF, Flash animation and digital video. To display animation, a digital camera, computer, or projector are used along with new technologies that are produced.

Animation creation methods include the traditional animation creation method and those involving stop motion animation of two and three-dimensional objects, paper cutouts, puppets and clay figures. Images are displayed in a rapid succession, usually 24, 25, 30, or 60 frames per second. Computer animation processes generating animated images with the general term computer-generated imagery (CGI). 3D animation uses computer graphics, while 2D animation are used for stylistic, low bandwidth and faster real time renderings.

Video editing

The term video editing can refer to: The process of manipulating video images. Once the province of expensive machines called video editors, video editing software is now available for personal computers and workstations. Video editing includes cutting segments (trimming), re-sequencing clips, and adding transitions and other Special Effects.

Linear video editing, using video tape and is edited in a very linear way. Several video clips from different tapes are recorded to one single tape in the order that they will appear.

Non-linear editing system (NLE), This is edited on computers with specialised software. These are non destructive to the video being edited and use programs such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro and Avid.

Offline editing is the process in which raw footage is copied from an original source, without affecting the original film stock or video tape. Once the editing has been completely edited, the original media is then re-assembled in the online editing stage.

Online editing is the process of reassembling the edit to full resolution video after an offline edit has been performed and is done in the final stage of a video production.

Vision mixing, when working within live television and video production environments. A vision mixer is used to cut live feed coming from several cameras in real time.
